A Lumin Smart Panel configured to connect over WiFi will lose connectivity when any of the following occur:

  • A WiFi router is replaced.
  • A WiFi network name (SSID) or password is changed.

This article outlines the process to re-introduce WiFi credentials to a previously-installed Lumin Smart Panel. This process can be performed by a system owner, installer, or any other user within range of the home's WiFi network.

1. Ensure that the Lumin Smart Panel is in Setup Mode, indicated by blinking blue and green lights on the side of the Lumin Smart Panel.

  • If both lights are not blinking, press and release the button on the Lumin Smart Panel labeled either WiFi or Setup. If both lights are still not blinking after this button press, please contact Lumin support.
2. Ensure that your mobile device is connected to the home's WiFi network.
3. Open the Lumin mobile app and log in.

4. Select the Menu icon in the upper left corner of the app.

The Connect a New Panel screen of the Lumin app. The two following fields are available: Select your home WiFi network and WiFi Password.

10. Choose Begin Setup.

A status window will appear while Lumin connects. Once online, the lights on the side of the Lumin Smart Panel will change from a blinking state to a steady, unblinking state. The blue light will go solid first, indicating that the Lumin Smart Panel is able to send and receive a ping via the internet. The green light should go solid a few moments after the blue light, indicating that the Lumin Smart Panel has connected to Lumin's off-site servers.

The Connect a New Panel screen on the Lumin app, with the Select Your Home WiFi Network and WiFi Password fields completed. The setup process has begun, and a Status window displays the progress.

After successfully connecting, the Lumin app will display additional settings options relating to panel configuration, circuits, and smart controls. This information is populated during initial installation and generally does not need to be updated when entering new WiFi credentials. Once the process above is complete, select the Lumin icon near the top of the app to return to the Home screen and resume normal operation.
