If you are having trouble connecting your Lumin Smart Panel to your home's WiFi network, the problem may be due to a firewall setting configured by the homeowner or the internet service provider.
Firewall Requirements
The following ports must be opened to allow outbound traffic:
- 443-449
- 50000-60000
Additionally, Port 8085 must be open to local API requests but does not need to allow outbound traffic.
If you continue to experience issues connecting your Lumin Smart Panel to the home's network, please contact Lumin Customer Support.
Other Potential Connection Issues
Please note that there may be other issues causing the connection problem including:
- The Lumin Smart Panel is in Setup Mode (does not apply to ethernet-connected units). The blue and green LEDs on the side of the Lumin Smart Panel should both be blinking during initial setup only. If both lights are blinking after the Lumin Smart Panel has been set up, follow the procedure in this article:
- The home's WiFi network is not 2.4 GHz ((does not apply to ethernet-connected units). 2.4 GHz is required. Some blended 2.4/5.0 networks may have a "smart" setting that steers traffic onto the 5.0 network. In these cases, disabling this setting or establishing a dedicated 2.4 GHz network may be necessary.
- Not being connected to the correct WiFi network (normally does not apply to ethernet-connected units, however the ethernet connection should be to the same Local Area Network/router that broadcasts the WiFi signal the homeowner typically uses).
- The network signal is not strong enough.
- The Lumin Smart Panel WiFi antenna is not installed or is damaged (does not apply to ethernet-connected units) .
