Smart Power Mode/Off-Grid Mode and Grid Detection Circuit Overview
Smart Power Mode/Off-Grid Mode is one of the most powerful features of the Lumin Smart Panel. It protects battery storage by shedding unprotected loads milliseconds after a grid outage is detected.
In order for Smart Power Mode/Off-Grid Mode to appear within the Lumin app, the Lumin Grid Detection Circuit (GDC) must be installed and connected to a point in the electrical system that is not backed up by the battery storage system. This circuit sends a signal to the Lumin Smart Panel to activate Smart Power Mode/Off-Grid Mode when no voltage is detected on the circuit, so it must be connected to wiring that will be de-powered when a grid outage occurs.

Enabling Smart Power Mode/Off-Grid Mode
Once the GDC circuit is installed, the user will be able to interact with Smart Power Mode/Off-Grid Mode in the Lumin app in the following manner:
1. On the Home screen, select Create New Smart Control. | |
2. Select Smart Power Mode/Off-Grid Mode on the Smart Controls screen. | |
3. Slide the slider to the right to enable Smart Power Mode/Off-Grid Mode.

4. Once Smart Power Mode/Off-Grid Mode is enabled, select circuits that will be protected in a grid outage.

1. Choose the Menu icon in the top left corner of the Home screen. | |
2. Select Modes and Schedules. | |
3. Select Smart Power Mode/Off-Grid Mode in the Smart Controls screen. |

Adding Protection to Circuits
1. Select the Menu icon. | |
2. Choose Modes and Schedules. | |
3. Select Smart Power Mode/Off-Grid Mode in the Smart Controls screen. | |
4. Choose the drop-down triangle in the Protected Circuits box. | |
5. Select the circuits you would like protected. | |
6. Press Save to save your changes. |
Removing Protection from Circuits
1. Select the Menu icon. | |
2. Choose Modes and Schedules. | |
3. Select Smart Power Mode/Off-Grid Mode in the Smart Controls screen. | |
4. Press the X on the line or lines you would no longer like protected. | |
5. Select Save to save your changes. |
